Coaching

Coaching could perhaps be described as a non-clinical form of therapy, with an emphasis on performance enhancement as opposed to targeting psychological maladies. This can come in many forms from life coaching, fitness coaching and executive coaching, among others. It is still a relatively young discipline, but its better variants have been fashioned from long established components.

It is important to understand that coaching, unlike ‘dietician’ or ‘psychiatrist’, is not a protected title. Anyone can call himself a coach, just as anyone can call himself an actor or a singer. However, to be an accredited coach, especially with a reputable body, requires academic study and experience, as is the case with those who offer it here. As everyone who coaches at the Clear Thinking Clinic has a Cognitive Behavioural background, the same skills can utilised in coaching. So even though the coaching is a fledgeling discipline, its roots are ancient and venerable.

Currently at the Clear Thinking Clinic, it is practiced by George Fieldman. To arrange an appointment, click here.
